Cardiologist, Greater Cincinnati Cardiovascular Consultants (GCCC)

Dr. Wagoner is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. She has an undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from The University of North Carolina. She graduated from medical school from East Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina where she also completed her residency in Internal Medicine. She completed a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at The University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1994 where she also completed training in Heart Failure and Heart Transplant Cardiology. She was a faculty member at The University of Cincinnati Division of Cardiology from 1994 until 2007. She directed the Heart Failure and Transplant Program for ten years at The University of Cincinnati. She served as the Director of Cardiac Services at The University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH from 2002 until 2007. She currently practices with Greater Cincinnati Cardiovascular Consultants (GCCC), working out of The Christ Hospital, Mercy Fairfield Hospital, and WestChester in the Cincinnati area.

Her expertise is in the area of cardiac transplantation, heart failure cardiology, heart disease prevention, and heart disease in women. She speaks nationally, regionally and locally on heart failure, coronary artery disease, cardiac transplantation, and heart disease in women. In addition, she has more than 13 years of experience with clinical trials and cardiology research. This experience applies to more than 90 clinical trials involving heart failure, coronary artery disease, pacemakers, heart disease prevention, and heart transplantation. She has more than 130 publications in numerous medical journals. She has been recognized as a “Top Doc” in the field of Heart Disease in Women by Good Housekeeping magazine. She has been recognized in “Cincinnati Magazine” as one of Cincinnati’s Top Doctors in 2005 and 2007 and was featured in Cincinnati’s “Inspire Magazine” as one of 10 of Cincinnati’s most inspiring women, March 2006. She serves as a consultant for CardioVascular BioTherapeutics. She is married to Victor Walton, Jr, an attorney with Vorys, Sater, Seymour, and Pease in Cincinnati, Ohio and is the mother of 3 daughters, Emily, Caroline, and Victoria Walton.
